Saints Row: The Third Remastered is completely fixated on compelling you to enjoy yourself. And it accomplishes that. However, for nearly a decade, a conflict has been simmering in my mind regarding the game, which is that it derives some of its enjoyment from the oddest, most repulsive sources. After all, this is the game that transformed a massive, floppy violet phallus into a weapon.
The game is unrelenting. Every fresh set-piece escalates the stakes, each new mission involving me shooting a film or escorting a surreal feline mascot to his destination while utilizing my car’s flamethrowers to scorch random pedestrians so that I can fill up the cat’s “pleasure” bar at the top of the screen because, darn it, he just adores watching innocent people burn… all contribute to the peculiar feeling that this game can and will do anything conceivable to subject me to something that’s unconventional and absurd but ultimately enjoyable on some level, even if it should make me exceedingly uneasy.
A feeling of absurd, chaotic delight emanates from these Saints who harmonize to Sublime in a car while en route to the next escapade. Steelport is an expansive playground when you happen to be one of the individuals who matter. Everyone else is fair game or is hardly worth contemplating. Unless they’re a celebrity guest star.
Saints Row The Third Remastered Torrent Magnet undertakes a myriad of foolish actions, and everything is intentionally exaggerated, but it’s so entertaining that I never fixate on the aspects that might otherwise cause me discomfort because it is wholeheartedly, beautifully dedicated to its absurdity. It strikes up, it strikes down, and it strikes in every conceivable direction except at me because, well, I’m chill.
Subtlety is nonexistent in Steelport. There is no childhood sled named Rosebud here. But there is a colossal, violet phallus and a certain measure of shameful delight in brandishing it at numerous faces. And you can bet I indulge in that, all while doing my best not to contemplate it too deeply.
Saints Row The Third Remastered Torrent is an aged game, having launched on last-gen consoles back in 2011, so naturally, many of the gameplay mechanics feel outdated. The shooting itself can be a tad clumsy, and there are no cover mechanics either, making it certainly less fluid than more recently released third-person shooters. It never feels explicitly subpar or anything, but you’ll undoubtedly sense that you’re playing a last-gen game from a gameplay perspective.
